They Call Me Blessed

The Nativity Movie Unit Study

Every holiday season I stop to watch The Nativity Movie. I am delighted that my friend Laura from Awe-filled Homemaker has created a free unit study for The Nativity Movie and she is sharing it here with us!

Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year and it always has a way of bringing out the importance of family time. My favorite part of our family traditions for the holidays are all the wonderful movie nights I get to have with my family. We all have our favorite Christmas movie but as a family, the top movie on our list every year is The Nativity Story Movie. If you haven’t watched it, you will want to add it to your Christmas traditions to-do list.

7 Reasons to Watch The Nativity Movie

If you aren’t sure that this movie is something you and your family will love, let me give you a few reasons why you’ll love it and why we love it.

Reason #1: It brings the Nativity scenes the children see during the holidays, to life.
Reason #2: It tells the story behind what the Nativity scene is meant to represent.
Reason #3: It’s a clean, family-friendly movie that doesn’t involve censoring in any way.
Reason #4: It’s an easy way to teach children the real reason for the season.
Reason #5: It’s a reminder for adults to slow down and remember that Christmas isn’t all about the gifts and food.
Reason #6: We’ve created an edible nativity scene you can make with your children as part of The Nativity Story movie experience!
Reason #7: There are a few really neat facts behind the making of the movie like the fact that the woman playing Mary was actually pregnant during filming. How’s that for realistic?

I could go on for quite a few more reasons but I think you get the point. This movie is a refreshing move away from the usual Christmas movies you run into. While all of those movies are wonderful and we look forward to them every year, The Nativity Story movie is special. It’s special because instead of being a fictional story, it’s a reenactment of the true story behind Christmas.  I would love for you to read more about this by clicking below and heading over.
