PIN ME!

A Blessed MOMdays Word of Encouragement:

I can’t believe November is around the corner and consequently Christmas and 2017!! Is it just me or each year just happens faster?? We’ve been in Canada for over 5 years and my youngest will turn 5 in a few weeks. My 6-year-old is reading on her own wants to cook to help me and be more independent, and my oldest, who is 8, has just written his very first blog post!

Time flies…

Are we slowing down to enjoy the journey? Are we making memories with our children or simply flying by our days checking off our immense to-do lists??

This week as I pursue more and more rest and peace in my life, I realized that God has never created us for hustle! He created us for rest.

Here is what Jesus tells us in Matthew 11:28-30:

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Friends, we were not created to live an overscheduled and overwhelming life! It’s time to for to slow down, breathe, rest assured that He who is faithful will reward your hard labor so you can enjoy the journey!

This week I had so much fun with my kids! Yes, we worked hard too but the more I focus on doing less but do it well, the more productive we become in our homeschool. And let me tell you how wonderful it is when your oldest turns to you at 11:56am and says: ” Mom, I’m done with all my school today!” Oh, HALLELUYAH!!!

I want to invite you to rest, have more fun with your kids, take a nap – I took two this week!!! Relax, mama. You have this. Don’t overwork them, don’t overwhelm yourself. Do less, but do it well!

I have been praying and encouraging myself with this Scripture in Isaiah 54:13:

“All your children will be taught by the LORD, and great will be their peace.”
Jesus wants you to have peace and He wants your kids to have peace. Make peace your focus and priority this week.
