Why be indoors when we can be outdoors? 🍂🌲 Charlo Why be indoors when we can be outdoors? 🍂🌲
Charlotte Mason said: “Never be within doors when you can rightly be without.”
As homeschool moms, we spend so much of our days pouring into everyone else. Teaching, cooking, cleaning, planning, answering a hundred questions… and sometimes we’re just plain exhausted!
And you know what? We need fresh air just as much as our children do!
There’s something about being out in nature that helps us slow down, breathe deeply, clear our minds, and release the stress we’ve been carrying. A walk among the trees can do wonders for our mood, energy, and peace of mind.
I’ve learned over the years that some days, the best thing we can do for our homeschool is simply close the books, grab our walking shoes, and head outside.
Our children get to explore, observe, wonder, and delight in God’s creation. And we moms get to enjoy it right alongside them!
Not every beautiful homeschool day happens around the kitchen table. Some of our richest lessons and sweetest memories happen on forest trails, beside waterfalls, and under the open sky.
And sometimes, the mama needs that nature walk more than the children do! ❤️
When was the last time you closed the books and took your kids on a nature walk just because you needed it?

Something BIG is in the works… big enough that I n Something BIG is in the works… big enough that I needed a little office right here in my bedroom. 🤭 Any guesses?
But first, can we talk about this VIEW?!
Those trees, the fall colors, the light pouring through the windows… Lord, thank You! I sit here with my books and my ideas and can hardly believe I get to call this place home. 🍂🌿
And yes, that’s laundry all over the bed. 😂 Welcome to the real tour! I could have waited until everything was put away, but I was too excited to show you my little corner and what’s outside those windows.
This room has become so much more than a bedroom. It’s my refuge, my study room, my gym, and my sanctuary. A place to open my Bible, pray, move my body, rest, and now… work on something I’m not quite ready to share yet. 🤫
I feel so blessed to be in this house and in this season with my family. There is so much peace here, and I’m deeply thankful for the space to slow down, listen to the Lord, and let some dreams begin to take shape.
Apparently, those dreams needed a desk with a view. The laundry will have to wait. 😉
What do YOU think I’m working on? Leave your guesses below! I’m so curious to see who gets close. 👇❤️

We’re selling our RV and truck, and my heart is fu We’re selling our RV and truck, and my heart is full thinking about everything this little home has meant to our family. ❤️
For the past eight years, it has been our home through adventures in some of the most beautiful places in the United States and Canada. National parks, landmarks, and places we once read about in books became part of our children’s memories.
Inside these walls, we read so many books aloud while roadschooling. We prayed, worshipped, laughed, and watched our children grow up. Wherever we parked, we were home. Oh, this RV has been so loved!
Now we feel the Lord leading us into a new season, and we’re ready to pass it on to another family dreaming of making years of memories together.
🚐 2018 Open Range 310BHS four-season RV
• Four slide-outs and tons of storage
• Bunkroom with an IKEA bed plus three bunks, floor-to-ceiling bookshelf, TV, wardrobe, and two large drawers beneath the lower bunk
• Awesome kitchen with an island
• Living room fireplace
• Outdoor kitchen
• Master bedroom with a huge closet
🛻 2012 Ram 3500 with a 6.7L diesel engine
It makes me smile to imagine another family choosing their first destination, children settling into their bunks, and new adventures beginning. We cannot wait to see how God will use this truck and RV to bless another family the way they have blessed ours! ❤️
Have you been dreaming about hitting the road for a new season of adventure—or know someone who has? Message us for details and share this post with them!
There are so many more memories waiting to be made. 🏞️

I think some "homeschool experts" or perhaps the i I think some "homeschool experts" or perhaps the indocrination we suffered from our public school years unintentionally convinced homeschooling mothers that a better education always means doing more.
More subjects.
More curriculum.
More activities.
More planning.
More structure.
More busyness.
But I've spent years teaching mothers that more isn't necessarily better.
Children need time to think, imagine, explore, play, read, wonder, and have meaningful conversations. They need parents who are present, not perpetually exhausted from trying to provide the perfect education.
And most importantly, we must remember that homeschooling is not simply an academic undertaking. It is part of our calling to raise and disciple our children in the knowledge of God.
We don't need to do everything.
We need to faithfully do what matters most.
So here is my advice to every homeschool mom reading this post:
Do less, but do it better.
Busyness and fruitfulness are not the same thing!
Now take a deep breath, relax.
You can do this!
Mama, enjoy learning and playing with your children. Every hour spent together is a blessing, not a burden!
Time with your children is a gift.

This is the sound of our home. ❤️ Ryan playing his This is the sound of our home. ❤️ Ryan playing his guitar, singing, and praising the Lord.
From morning to evening, there is almost always a song coming from him. Sometimes he even sings in his sleep! 😂 Worship is so much a part of who he is, and I love getting to live alongside it.
Last Sunday, our pastor’s dad asked me where Hadassah got her gift of singing. I told him, “Ryan sings night and day!” Now Ariella is also leading worship, and it brings me so much joy to watch our daughters use their voices to praise the Lord.
They have grown up hearing their daddy worship through ordinary days, and now I get to hear their own songs rising to the Lord. What a beautiful blessing.
“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” — Psalm 34:1, KJV
“From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised.” — Psalm 113:3, KJV
It is so good to live in a house where worship fills the air. Thank You, Lord, for the music, for this family, and for the joy of praising You together. 🤍
