Grammar Galaxy is the curriculum you wish you have had for grammar!
Raise your hands if you loved your grammar lessons growing up?! LOL, not many hands go up when you ask your kids that either. Well, not until they find this fun and super engaging curriculum!
One of the things I love the most about homeschooling is to be able to give a custom-made education to my children. It’s so important to learn to choose the right curriculum for your family. Knowing your kids well will help you pick fantastic books they will love learning from. Grammar Galaxy is one of these perfect curricula for my family!

When I first heard about Grammar Galaxy, my ears were perking up and I have to confess I have never been excited about buying a grammar book for my children until this program showed up!!
English is not even my first language and I had to study a lot of English grammar in order to enter university when I moved to the USA twenty years ago. I only wish I had learned grammar the way I will be teaching my kids this year with this program! I can only imagine my kids LOVING IT and asking for more grammar lessons!
With short lessons based on wonderful and captivating stories, Grammar Galaxy is a wonderful addition to our unhurried Charlotte Mason inspired homeschool approach.
My kids anticipate our grammar lessons together. Now that they are much more independent (See here how you can teach kids to be independent learners here), they can even do their lessons on their own.
So what is so exciting about Grammar Galaxy?
Grammar Galaxy is a complete language arts curriculum for beginning readers (advanced first graders,
second graders, and students who are just beginning to read).
Short, comical stories teach concepts in a memorable way. Students discover the havoc that ensues when the evil Gremlin tampers with the English language. Fiction books are labeled as nonfiction and begin coming to life. A re-virus is introduced into the computer system causing things to be repeated endlessly. Rhyming poems and books are ruined when Word Harmony matches words that don’t rhyme.
The Royal English children invite students to become fellow grammar guardians in order to save the galaxy from crises like these. Teachers read one of the mysteries to their students. Vocabulary words are defined in the text. Discussion questions follow each lesson to check for understanding. Students then complete a corresponding mission in the mission manual that reinforces the concepts.
Grammar Galaxy is a series of Language Arts books for first to sixth graders, it teaches:
- reading skill development
- literary concepts
- vocabulary
- spelling
- grammar
- composition and
- public speaking
Grammar Galaxy: Nebula, Protostar & Yellow Star are a great choice for homeschoolers, teachers, and parents:
- Whose student has begun to read and write (use a good phonics and handwriting program first)
- Who want their student to have excellent reading, writing, and speaking skills
- Who wants their student to spend less time doing seatwork and more time reading and writing

Sounds like a worthy program to try out. Thanks for sharing. English is not my first language and these tips are helpful for me to improve on it.
Hi Ana, this looks awesome. I have pinned it to my Pinterest Board! Just a question. How do you think this would work for an EAL student?
We love Grammar Galaxy but my kids’ first language is English, so even my 4-year-old is able to understand the stories and narrate it back to me. I think it will help an EAL student if they can understand English well already. If their English is very limited then it will be too much for them to understand the stories, the vocabulary etc. So it will depend on their level of English. Grammar Galaxy is fun! You can download the sample pages to check it out! 🙂 I hope this helps.
Awesome grammar program! This would be perfect for my dyslexic learner!
Amazing grammar program! I’m hoping she writes one for an older age category…this would be awesome for my dyslexic learner!
