I love this Mom’s Bible Journal printable and I know you will love it too!
It has been a lifesaver for me as a busy mom just like you, who don’t have a lot of time to sit down quietly and do a devotional but desperately need to spend time with God before the chaos starts.
Why I Created this Bible Journal
I confess that I don’t do my devotional first thing in the morning every single day as much as I want too.
Some days, I get up with three hungry kids begging for breakfast and I have to do my devotional standing by the stove flipping pancakes, blending smoothies or making waffles!
This is life, I know. I’m beyond blessed to be a mom and so are you! But let’s never get too busy to pray and to seek God’s face, shall we?
If we want to fulfill our God-given assignments daily then we need to stay focused in spending time with God. Even if this means to do our Bible reading and journaling in bits and pieces throughout the day.
That’s why I created this Mom’s Bible Journal so we can have it as a companion to write down thoughts, prayer requests, praise reports, Bible study notes and whatever else the Holy Spirit downloads to our hearts.
How I Use My Bible Journal
In some of my busiest days my devotional time looks like this:
I read my Bible or listen to it on my Bible App (best thing for busy moms!) while making breakfast.
I write down one Scripture that spoke the most to me to meditate on.
Let’s say I chose to meditate on Romans 3:22:
“This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,”
Then, I write down 1-2 words that stood up for me in the passage. Let’s say I chose righteousness and believe, so I write it down.
I’m a bit of a Bible geek because of my degree in Biblical and Jewish Studies and I love to study word roots to find out what the real meaning of the original text. So, when I do have time, I quickly look for the word meanings at Blue Letter Bible.
While my kids eat their breakfast, I finally sit down and I write down how the passage applies to my life and pray.
Next, I write 1-2 things I am grateful for. There is nothing better than a grateful heart to begin your day with. Beginning the day with gratitude changes our attitude!
After our homeschool Bible time is over, I write down prayer requests, praise reports, etc.
