Our Artza Box arrived, and this one feels like it Our Artza Box arrived, and this one feels like it was made for our family. 🤎🇮🇱
A little piece of the Holy Land delivered right to our table!
This box is filled with treasures inspired by Israel and its rich biblical history—from a beautiful biblical mosaic crafted by Israeli youth with special abilities, to za’atar, a Mediterranean artisan spice blend, a little bottle of sesame, and the most beautiful Jerusalem half-shekel replica.
There’s even a beautiful book about Esther and the Persian Empire, a fragrance diffuser, and a gorgeous mug with the blessing from Psalm 29:11:
“The LORD blesses His people with peace.”
As someone who has been so deeply impacted by our time living in Israel, I love finding ways to keep those memories alive in our home—and even better when those little reminders also introduce our children to the history, culture, art, and biblical world of the places we’ve studied.
This was such a fun box to open. Every item has a story, and I can already see several of these making their way into our homeschool and our family conversations. 📖✨
Come unbox the Holy Land with me! 🇮🇱

We don’t learn about Canada only from books. We e We don’t learn about Canada only from books.
We experience it. 🍁
We swim in its lakes, paddle beneath its mountains, walk through its forests, watch its wildlife, visit its historic places, and learn the stories of the people who have called this land home.
These past few days at the lake have reminded me again how deeply geography shapes our relationship with a country.
I don’t want my children to know Canada only as the name printed on their passports—or as a list of provinces, prime ministers, dates, and facts to memorize.
I want them to know its landscapes.
Its people.
Its stories.
Its beauty—and the difficult, complicated parts of its history too.
That is why I created my new guide:
🍁 How to Build a Rich Canadian History Homeschool Curriculum
I gathered the Canadian history resources I have spent years searching for, including:
📚 Canadian curricula and history spines
📚 Living books and family read-alouds
📚 Biographies and historical fiction
📚 Geography and nature resources
📚 Indigenous-centred stories
📚 Picture books for younger children
📚 Canadian homeschool bookshops
📚 The simple, literature-rich curriculum we’re using this year
My hope is that this guide will help you build a Canadian history study that brings your children into a living relationship with the people, places, stories, ideas, and landscapes of this country.
From sea to sea.
And there is still time to enter the 2026 Back to Homeschool Giveaway inside the post!
FOUR families will each win a $200 digital gift card to the homeschool curriculum or supply company of their choice.
You’ll also receive access to the FREE 2026 Homeschool Resource Guide, featuring more than $1,000 in resources, discounts, savings, and special offers.
⏰ The giveaway ends TONIGHT, August 12, at 11:59 p.m. ET!
Tap the link in my bio to read the new Canadian history guide and enter the giveaway before it closes.

I still can’t believe I get to wake up in this bea I still can’t believe I get to wake up in this beautiful bedroom, surrounded by trees, every single morning. 🌿
Back in March, I was sobbing as we packed up our home in Florida. We sold and gave away almost everything we owned and moved back to Canada.
I didn’t understand why God was asking us to leave. I trusted Him… but I was heartbroken. Honestly, this time I was upset. I was tired of moving and starting again. Tired of uprooting my children. Tired of saying goodbye to friends we wish would never leave behind.
This was our fourth international move in 18 years of marriage. We’ve moved more times than I can count, and we’ve started over from scratch at least five times. I mean really from scratch—no savings, no house to sell, no safety net. Just obedience.
All of those moves happened because we believed God was calling us somewhere, even when we couldn’t see the reason.
This time wasn’t different.
But this time, I had my own plans.
And God completely wrecked them.
(I can hear Him laughing as I write this.)
What felt like the end of my plans became the beginning of something so much better than I could have imagined. Isn’t that just like Him?
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord… “You will go out with joy and be led forth with peace… and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” — Isaiah 55:8–12
Now every morning, I look out these windows and imagine the trees clapping their hands. 🙌🏼🌲
His plans are always better than mine.
Even when they begin with tears.
Even when they require letting go.
Even when I can’t see what He’s doing.
One day, you look back and realize He wasn’t taking something good away.
He was leading you to something better. ❤️
P.S. The day before we came to see this house I prayed for a view of trees. 😉🙏🏼
