Meet my new printable: Mom’s Food Journal.
I sketched this journal while sitting at my doctor’s office this afternoon. As I’ve been making over my mornings, I needed something to keep me on track, inspired and motivated and I thought you would like it too!
I liked it so much I’m thinking about expanding it and creating a few more pages. I would love to hear your suggestions! In fact, as I type this, I have already created a full gorgeous Mom’s Bible Journal including a prayer journal, mom’s favorite Bible verses and more! What do you think I should create next? A homeschool daily planner?
I created this Mom’s Food Journal in two sizes: Letter size and Happy Planner size. If you don’t know what a Happy Planner is, you can check it out here. Me and My BIG Ideas Hello Life Planner This is the planner I’m using it and loving it. See more Happy Planner goodies here.
If you don’t have a Happy Planner, you can simply print your Mom’s Food Journal pages in regular US letter-size, front and back, (both sizes are included in your download) and take it to your local Staples to bind it and make it a pretty planner!
Here is how this Mom’s Food Journal will help you.
Friends, we know we need to take care of ourselves so we can take good care of our families but we often neglect ourselves and walk around on an empty tank! We must take care of ourselves so we can be better moms, healthier moms, and happy moms. These are the three important areas I think each one of us needs to be focusing on first thing in the morning before we attend to everyone’s need in the house:
For us to be better as a whole we need to care for our spirit, soul, mind, and body – all together! Caring for one and neglecting the other will get you in trouble. These are the three important areas I think each one of us needs to be focusing on first thing in the morning before we attend to everyone’s need in the house:
These are the three ways this free Mom’s Food Journal will help us to be focused on first thing in the morning before we attend to everyone’s need in the house:
1 – Feed Your Spirit!
God always comes first because He is the source of everything we need. Also, because His Word will give us the wisdom, inspiration, and guidance we will need for the day. So I added a space to write down one Bible verse that spoke to you during your devotional time. Next, write a prayer for YOURSELF! Then, pray for others. I find that by praying for others my faith and encouragement increase substantially beside, I take my focus off my own problems and start focusing on the solutions instead.
2 – Feed Your Soul and Your Mind!
What are the things that help you learn and grow every day? Is it a book you read, an audiobook or a podcast you listen to, or a scope that inspires, encourages or challenges you? I love to feed my soul and mind even if just for 5-10 minutes every day.
I’m currently reading Hoodwinked: Ten Myths Moms Believe and Why We All Need to Knock It Off for our next book club and The Lifegiving Home: Creating a Place of Belonging and Becoming and listening to Hands Free Mama: A Guide to Putting Down the Phone, Burning the To-Do List, and Letting Go of Perfection to Grasp What Really Matters! on Audible while cleaning, doing laundry, dishes etc.
I want to be a better mom and these books are helping me! Don’t even get me started with my favorite podcasts and scopes – they are many!! I’m so grateful for the encouraging online community we have!
3 – Feed Your Body! (BONUS FREEBIE!)
You read it right! Taking care of your body will help you be a better mom! One because you will be healthier, less stressed out, less sick, less moody, etc and second because you will be setting up a great example to the rest of the family.
What you eat matters!! I won’t expand on this one because you know me enough to know that healthy living is a MUST around here and neither junk food nor sugar has a place in my pantry. Above all, this is why I take care of my body: God created in His image, Jesus died for it and the Holy Spirit lives in it, do we need a better reason?
Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and we need to take better care of it. 😉 I will give you another gift here – just click here to download my 3 Day Essential Mini Detox program using only whole foods and essential oils. Honestly, I feel like I go through periods where I start out well, try to do things and then burn/fizzle out because I have 5 million things to do, I’m tired, it’s hard to keep up. Life is hard sometimes. But maybe if I tried to focus on just a few things . . .
Maggie, I know how you feel. Is there anything you can remove from your plate? Anything you can outsource? How can you simply your life so you are not do overwhelmed?
