Shabbat Shalom, sweet friends. 🤍 What a beautiful Shabbat Shalom, sweet friends. 🤍 What a beautiful week it has been. Yesterday we wrapped up our Charlotte Mason Inspired online homeschool conference after an incredible week with 35 amazing speakers. Together we learned, worshipped, prayed, laughed, and encouraged one another. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for every homeschool mom who joined us. What a gift this community is. Were you there? Or did you miss it? Today, I am embracing the gift of Shabbat—a sacred invitation to stop striving, rest in God’s presence, and remember that He is the One who sustains us. “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” — Exodus 20:8 Shabbat is our weekly invitation to “be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10 As the sun sets and our family gathers around the table, I am reminded that God’s goodness is not measured by all we accomplish, but by His faithful presence with us. His mercies are new every morning, His peace is available to every weary heart, and His blessings are abundant beyond what we deserve. After pouring out this week, I’m choosing to be filled again. To rest. To worship. To simply enjoy the goodness of the Lord. I hope you too have made time today to “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.” — Psalm 34:8 Wishing you a peaceful and refreshing Shabbat. ✨ How is your Shabbat going? She spent years preparing the feast and never once She spent years preparing the feast and never once pulled up a chair. The perfect curriculum. The color-coded schedule. The Pinterest-worthy morning basket. And somehow, still standing with her back to the table. Preparation can become the most acceptable form of avoidance we know. It looks like faithfulness. It feels like love. But sometimes the planner in our hand is the very thing keeping us from the chair right behind us. Charlotte Mason called the mother a facilitator and inspirer. Not a performer. Someone who creates the conditions for learning, then steps inside them. Mama, your children do not need a more perfect table. They need you sitting at it. The feast was never just for them. 🤍
You don't need a curated shelf, a nature table, or You don't need a curated shelf, a nature table, or a morning basket with 14 items. You need a book, a notebook, and a walk outside. Somewhere along the way, Charlotte Mason became Pinterest-worthy. And new homeschool moms quietly wondered if they were doing it wrong before they had even started. Mama, you are not doing it wrong. When Ana began homeschooling, she picked up living books, took her kids outside, and asked them to narrate. Years later she realized she had been walking the Charlotte Mason path the whole time. The simplicity was the point. Your permission slip: >> Start with one living book >> Skip the nature table for now >> Follow your child's curiosity, not a checklist >> Call it Charlotte Mason even if it looks simple Start small.
